Nichols Steals One at St. Andrew's

Winning on the road is tough Winning at St. Andrew's is rare. The Nichols Boys Prep hockey team accomplished just that as they walked away with a 2-1 victory.

The game was slow and boring, just the way Nichols wanted it. St. Andrews had a difficult time establishing any type of rhythm as Nichols held the defending CISAA champs to just 23 shots. The first period ended with Nichols down 1-0, but there was no signs of panic from the Vikings. Andrew Poturalski scored on the power play and Charlie Stein scored shorthanded, both in the second period, to give Nichols a lead they would never relinquish. Peter Borgesi was strong in net making 22 saves.

The win puts Nichols in sole possession of first place of the CISAA going into the new year. Next up for the Vikings is a home game on December 16. Nichols will take on the Buffalo Regals U18AAA at 7:00.
