Game 2 of the Berkshire showcase was a challenge for the Vikings. With only 3 hours to recover from their first game of the day, Nichols started slowly, allowing Brunswick to take a 2-0 lead. Sloppy play and a lackluster effort allowed Brunswick considerable time and opportunity in the Nichols end of the rink. Andrew Poturalski gave the team life with just over 2 minutes remaining in the first half, and the game instantly changed. Nichols began to find its stride and take control of the game.
The second half proved to be all Nichols with the majority of the play taking place in the Brunswick end of the rink. Lucas Walsh tied the game with 11 minutes remaining in the game, and Charlie Stein buried a rebound with 4 minutes left to give Nichols a lead it would not relinquish. Peter Borgesi was strong in net for his first start of the season making 15 saves as Nichols outshot Brunswick 30-17.
Nichols will return to action on the road against the Hill School and Lawrenceville this weekend.
