The Buffalo Saints and Buffalo Jr Sabres met for game two of the weekend and played another close game resulting in a 3-3 tie. Due to time constraints, the two teams played 2-25 minute halves. The Jr Sabres built a 2-0 lead at the half, but a re-energized Saints team rebounded with 3 unanswered goals.
Steven Senese (1g.1a) continued his strong start to the season opening the scoring from the blue paint from
Cody Fleckenstein (1a) and
Ryan Coppins (1a).
Matt Gasuik (1g) scored a power play goal from the slot with an assist going to
Erik Urbank (1a).
Jack Millar (1g) netted his first goal of the season on the power play with assists to
Senese and
Alec Yerkovich (1a). The Jr Sabres would quickly tie the game with about 15 minutes to play, and neither team was able to find the back of the net.
Josh Graziano made 26 saves.
The Saints are off for two weeks and will take the ice in Marlborough, MA in the Junior Bruins Shootout at the New England Sports Center.
